Wooo!
'Spectrum’ has been out for just about a month now! Happy Spectrum-versary!! (Okay, the blog post gets better, I swear).
I started working on the album back in November of 2014 with the first single ‘Spectrum’. I had written song after song, and I normally write them in batches (I know that sounds weird…) depending on how inspired I am at the time. ‘Spectrum’ and ‘Part-Time Lover’ were two of the first songs I wrote for the album and are definitely some of my favourite tracks because they’ve been with me for so long.
For a long time I was struggling to actually get enough songs that I was happy with, to make an album. Though bit by bit I chipped away at it and eventually ended up with 10 songs that I was really proud of. I think if there’s one thing to take away from this album it’s that life is like a spectrum in a sense; that it’s hard to define the good and the bad
Now it’s been a month and to hear all the amazing feedback from everyone is just mind-blowing. To hear that you guys genuinely enjoy the album and love listening to it, is more than I could have hoped for!
Just last week, ‘Love It’ was serviced to radio for the first time and got it’s first rotations on Australian radio! (I may have screamed a little; or a lot).
A few days after that, I received news that I had been nominated for an award at this year’s Australian Independent Music Awards!!! I am shocked and still surprised at how that even came to be!
